How to check if your phone supports eSIM

How to quickly check if your phone supports eSIM?

Want to know if your phone can use the convenient eSIM service? You can quickly check using the two simple methods below.

Method 1: Use a dial code inquiry (most accurate method)

This method works for most smartphones, whether iPhone or Android.

  1. Open your phone's "Phone" app and go to the dial pad.

  2. Enter the code *#06#.

  3. The phone will immediately display the device's identification information. Carefully check if "EID" is displayed on the screen.

If an EID (Embedded Identity Document) number appears on your screen, it means your phone's hardware definitely supports eSIM functionality. The EID is the unique identifier for the eSIM chip, like its ID card.

Method 2: Look in your phone's settings menu

You can also directly look for options related to adding an eSIM in your phone's settings menu.

If you are an Apple iPhone user:
  1. Open "Settings".

  2. Tap "Cellular" (or "Mobile Data").

  3. On this page, look for an option like "Add eSIM" or "Add Cellular Plan". If you see this option, it means your iPhone supports eSIM.

If you are an Android phone user:

Although the settings interface varies slightly across different brands (such as Samsung, Google Pixel, Sony, etc.), the path is generally similar.

  1. Open "Settings".

  2. Go to "Network & Internet" or "Connections" related options.

  3. Tap "SIM card" or "Mobile network" management.

  4. Look for options such as "Add eSIM", "Download SIM", or an icon for scanning a QR Code. If you can find it, it means your phone supports eSIM.
